‘গুফি-বই’ শিশুরা ভীষণ পছন্দ করে। কেন পছন্দ করে? গুফি বইয়ের পেছনে যারা কাজ করে, তাঁরা কি এমন মন্ত্রবলে শিশুদের আকৃষ্ট করে যে শিশু সারাদিন মোবাইলের স্ক্রিনে আটকে থাকতো, সেই শিশুই হয়ে উঠে বই পড়ুয়া?
আমরা প্রায় দুইশত শিশুর উপর জরিপ চালিয়েছিলাম ২০২০ সালে। এই জরিপটি চালানো হয়েছিল সেইসব শিশুদের উপর যারা নিয়মিত গুফির বিভিন্ন গল্পের বইয়ের সিরিজ পড়েছে তাদের উপর। আমরা জানতে চেয়েছিলাম কেন তারা আমাদের গুফির বইগুলো পছন্দ করে। সেই জরিপের উপর ভিত্তি করেই আমরা লিখেছি এই আর্টিকেল।
গল্পের চরিত্র ও তাদের ঘটনা
গুফির গল্পগুলো তৈরি হয় মূল চরিত্রগুলোকে ঘিরে। গুফির গল্পের বইগুলো সাধারণত একটা থিমে তৈরি হয়। যেমন, নৈতিকতা ও মূল্যবোধ, সমস্যা সমাধানের দক্ষতা, আত্মবিশ্বাস ইত্যাদি। প্রতিটি গল্পের মূল চরিত্ররা কিভাবে নিজের সমস্যাকে জয় করে, নিজের ভয়কে জয় করে, নতুন কিছু আবিষ্কার করে – এগুলোই গল্পে ও ছবিতে ফুটে উঠে।
গল্পগুলোর মূল চরিত্রগুলোর সাথে শিশুরা নিজেদের কানেক্ট করতে পারে, তাই বারবার তাদের সেই গল্প শুনতে ইচ্ছা করে।
বইয়ের গুণগত মান
‘শিশুরা বইয়ের গুণগত মান বুঝে না – কারণ তাদের বয়স কম’ – এরকম একটা ধারণা অনেকের আছে। একটা ৬ মাসের শিশুকে যদি কিছু বইয়ের সামনে রাখা হয়, সে তার মধ্যে থেকে তার পছন্দের একটা বই ধরতে চাবে। কেন? কারণ, ওই বইটি তার উপযোগী করে ডিজাইন করা হয়েছে। তাই বইটি তার কাছে আকর্ষণীয় লাগছে।
গুফির লেখক, আঁকিয়ে, প্রকাশক সবাই তাই বইয়ের প্রচ্ছদ থেকে শুরু করে, ভেতরের প্রতিটি পাতার ছবির পেছনে গুরুত্ব দেয়। এই কারণেই জরিপে উঠে এসেছে শিশুরা গুফির বই পছন্দ করে কারণ বইয়ের ছবিগুলো খুব আকর্ষণীয় এবং প্রাণবন্ত।
বইয়ের গল্প
গুফির প্রতিটি গল্পের থিম বাছাই করা হয় অনেক চিন্তা করে। যেহেতু গুফির মূল লক্ষ্য শিশুর মধ্যে নৈতিকতা, মূল্যবোধ, সৃজনশীলতার দক্ষতা তৈরি করা – তাই প্রতিটি গল্পেই থাকে বিভিন্ন মেসেজ। গল্পে আছে বৈচিত্র্য, এতে করে গল্পের শেষে কি হচ্ছে সেটা জানার জন্য শিশু প্রবল আগ্রহ বোধ করে। ছবির সাথে কথা মিলিয়ে গল্প জানতে শুরু করে। শিশুমনে শুরু হয় কল্পনার রাজ্য।
গুফির প্রতিটি বই তৈরি হয় শিশুর বয়স এবং সুনির্দিষ্ট বিষয়ের উপর ভিত্তি করে। বিষয় নির্ধারিত হয় শিশুর মৌলিক উন্নয়নের সাথে সম্পর্ক রেখে। লেখা আর ছবি এমনভাবে বিন্যাস করা হয়, যেন শিশু বুঝতে পারে। বোধগম্য করা যায়,স্পষ্ট, চিন্তার উদ্রেক করে, আগ্রহ তৈরি করে – এমন উপাদান গুফির সবগুলো বইয়ে নিশ্চিত করা হয়। ফলে, শিশু গুফি বইয়ের সাথে একাত্ম হয়ে যায়। গুফি থেকে শেখে, আনন্দ আহরণ করে।
মূলত এসব কারণেই, শিশুরা গুফির বই পছন্দ করে। গুফি বইয়ের সাথে আপনার শিশুর বন্ধুত্ব হোক। গুফি হোক আপনার শিশুর শেখার উৎস, আনন্দের উৎস।
